HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 5467-1970 RESOLUTION NO. 5467 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION REGARDING CONTROL OF BUILDING AND IMPROVEMENTS IN COLMA CREEK WATERSHED. BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francis co that: 1. The Council gives notice to County of San Mateo, San Mateo County Flood Control District, City of Daly City, City of Pacifica, Town of Colma, City of San Bruno and State of California that in the Colma Creek watershed sites of their respective public improvements and sites of private improve- ments under control of the respective jurisdictions were on or about November 27, 1970, maintained in such a condition as to permit rains to carry, wash and deposit silt and debris into the storm drains of the City of South San Francisco, Colma Creek and tributaries thereto, thereby causing or contributing to the flooding of public and private property in said City and said sites are presently so maintained which hazards future damage to public facilities and private property in South San Francis co. 2. The Council requests that said governmental agencies take the necessary action to place the public areas under their respective jurisdictions ar.d require private property owners within their jurisdictions to maintain said sites so as to prevent the washing, carrying and deposit of silt and debris into the storm drains of the City of South San Francisco, Colma Creek and tributaries thereto during the remainder of the rainy seas on. 3. The Council requests, that the said governmental agencies on October 1st of each year hereafter: a. Withhold issuance of any~ grading permits until after the rainy semson. l® il I I b. Require grading permittees or owners of land on which grading work is being performed to discontinue grading operations and to construct and maintain adequate silt retention basins, plant ground cover or other works to contain the silt and prevent washing, carrying and depositing thereof into the storm drains of the City of South San Francisco, Colma Creek and tributaries thereto, public and private properties in South San Francisco. c. Withhold the commencement of any public works unless adequate silt connrol programs are included as an item thereof. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regulart meeting held on the 7th day of December , 1970 , by the following vote: AYES, COUNCILMEN Patrick E.
