CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING CAESAR LENCIONI.
WHEREAS, Caesar Lencioni started his career in America
in the City of South San Francisco at the age of sixteen
years, first working at the Western Meat Company and then
with the successor, Swift g Company for a total of twenty-
seven years, after which he commenced and conducted his own
business until retirement, and
WHEREAS, he served for twelve years as the representative
for the Italian daily news, L'Italia, in San Mateo County, and
WHEREAS, he represented the Fugazi-Dana-Giusti Travel
Agency, organizing, group tours to Italy for the Italian-
American Federation of San Mateo County and served as a leader
of many of said tours, and
WHEREAS, he joined the Sons of Italy in Sacramento in
1932 and became President in 1935 and also served as Grand
Deputy to the Roseville Lodge and the Queen Mary Lodge and
was founder of the South San Francisco branch of the Sons
of Italy, Alessandro Volta Lodge, and also served as the
first Secretary of said lodge and later served as President
for a total of eight years, during which time the lodge
became the second largest in the State, and for the past
twenty-two years has been the Grand Deputy to the Columbia
Lodge of San Mateo, and
WHEREAS, he also is a member' of the Italian-American
Federation, Young Men's Institute, Peninsula Social Club, and
has served on the Board of Directors of the Children's Health
Home for Mentally Retarded Children and Adults in San Mateo
County, and
WHEREAS, he portrays Christopher Columbus during the
Columbus Day celebration in San Mateo County each year which
benefits the Children's Health Home, and

WHEREAS, by all of the aforegoing and many other activi-
ties too numerous to mention, Caesar Lencioni has contributed
to the welfare of this community;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of South San Francisco that the Council does hereby
commend Caesar Lencioni for the many activities, civic and
business, which have contributed to the welfare of this
community, same being recited above.
