A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THAT THE PUBLIC INTEREST
AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN
LAND AND DIRECTING THE FILING OF EMINENT DOMAIN
PROCEEDINGS
STONEGATE RIDGE UNIT NO. 1
RESOLVED~ bY the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco, California, that
WHEREAS, it is the intention of this City Council to take
additional parcels of land in connection with the improvement
project known as Stonegate Ridge Unit No. 1, hereinafter more
particularly designated as Parcels i-A, 2, 3, 4 and 5,
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS FOUND, DETERMINED and ORDERED, as
follows:
1. That the public interest and necessity require the
acquisition, const~ction and completion of~street improvements
and work auxiliary thereto in, over, across and upon Parcels i-A,
2, 3, 4 and 5, more particularly described in Exhibit "A", attach-
ed hereto and by this reference made a part hereof, within said
City, and the taking of:
(a) The fee simple title for street purposes in
and to Parcel 5,
(b) Temporary slope and construction easements in,
overs under, across and upon Parcels i-A, 2,
3 and 4, limited in time to the period required
for the construction of the improvements afore-
said, for the purpose, inter alia, of moving
therein and thereon machines and equipment and
of depositing thereon and removing therefrom
excavated material and supplies,
are necessary for said improvements.
2. That said proposed acquisitions and improvements are
planned and located in the manner which Will be most compatible
with the greatest public good and the least private injury, and
all of said acquisitions are situate Within the City of South
San Francisco, County of San Mateo, State of California.
3. That. John Noonan, City Attorney of the City of South
San Francisco, and the law firm of Wilson, Jones, Morton &
i.
Lynch be, and they are, hereby directed to institute and con-
duet to conclusion an action in eminent domain for the acquisi-
tion of the said land, and to take such action as is necessary
therein, and said law firm of Wilson, jones, Morton & Lynch
shall be paid a reasonable fee therefor°
4o That an Order for Immediate Possession and Use be
obtained in said action, and that a warrant be issued to the
County Clerk, San Mateo County, California, in the amount deter-
mined by the Court to be so deposited, as a condition to the
right of immediate possession°
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a
regular meeting held this 3rd day of May, 1971, by the following vote:

Ail that certain real property situate in the City of South
San Francisco, County of San Mateo, State of California, and more
particularly described as folrlows:
Parcel 1-A
A strip of land 15 feet in width lying easterly of and contiguous
to the following described line:
Beginning at a point on the southerly line of Lot 1, Block 3, as
said Lot and Block are shown and delineated on that certain map
entitled "Map of Stonegate Ridge Unit No. 1, South San Franciscoz
California", recorded in Volume 64 of Maps at pages 36, 37 and 3~,
San Mateo CoUnty Records, distant thereon, South 73° 15' 32"
East 338.56 feet from the southwesterly corner thereof; thence
leaving said southerly line, South 16° 44' 28" West 342.23 feet to
a point on the northerly line of the lands of the South San Francisco
School District.
Parcel 2
A strip of land 15 feet in width lying westerly of and contiguous
to the following described line: ~
Beginning at a point on the southerly line of Lot 1, Block 4, as
said Lot and Block are shown and delineated on that certain map
antitled "Map of Stonegate Ridge Unit No. 1, South San Francisco,
California", recorded in Volume 64 of Maps at pages 36, 37 and 38,
San Mateo County Records, distant thereon, .South 73° 15' 32" East
14.37 feet from the mo~t westerly corner thereof, thence leaving
said southerly line, South 16°44' 28" West 342.23 feet to a point
on the northerly line of the lands of the South San Francisco School
District.
Parcel 3
A strip of land 5 feet in width lying northerly of and contiguous to
the following described line:
Beginning at a point on the easterly line of Chestnut Avenue, said
point being the southwest corner of that certain parcel of land
described in Volume 80, page 115, Official Records of San Mateo
County; ~hence along the southerly line of said parcel (80 O.R. 115)
South. 73v 15' 3.2" East 200 fest to the easterly terminus of this
parcel. ~
Parcel '4
Beginning at a-point on the easterly line of Chestnut Avenue, distant
-- thereon South 16° 47' 09" West 56.00 feet from the southwest corner of
that certain parcel of land described in Volume 80 of Official Records
at page' 115, San Mateo County Records; thence leaving said easterly
line, South 73° 15' 32", East 499.87 feet; thence North 16° 44' 28"
East 56.00 feet; thence South 73° 15" 32" East 25~00 feet; thence
South 16 44 28" West. ~ 0 feet; thence North 73 15' 32" West 10 0
feet; thence South 16 ' 28" West 20.00 feet; thence North 66u 05'
West 157.00 feet; thence North 61°, 0C' West 127.00 feet; thence North
73° 15' 32" West 240 feet, more or less to the aforesaid easterly line
of CheStnut Avenue; thence along last said line North 16° 47' 09"

Beginning at a point on the southeasterly line of Chestnut Avenue
said point being the most westerly corner of that certain 2.538 acre
parcel of land described in deed from South San Francisco Land and
Improvement Company to South San Francisco Water Company, dated
June 12, 1923, and recorded in Book 80 Official ReCords, County of
San Mateo at page llS; thence, along said southeasterly line South
16u 47' Q9" West 56.00 feet; thence, leaving said southeasterly line
South 73v 15' 32" East 499.87 feet; thence, North 16° 44' 28" East
56.00 feet; thence, North 74~ 15' 32" West 499.83 feet to the
Point of Beginning.
