CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION REGARDING
MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES.
WHEREAS, San Mateo County has created the finest county
mental health program in the nation, and
WHEREAS, the North County Mental Health Center has for
six years rendered invaluable service to the citizens of the
North County communities, and
WHEREAS, the proposed budget for the 19 71- ?2 fiscal
year drastically curtails the current program, and
WHEREAS, the proposed cuts in mental health services
are in fact short term savings which will in the end increase
the already heavy tax burden of San Mateo County taxpayers,
and
WHEREAS, dismantling the current program will result
in a loss of future federal and state funding making it vir-
tually impossible to bring the program back to its current
leve is;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that:
1. The City Council of the City of South San Francisco
respectfully requests that the San Mateo County Board of
Supervisors maintain the current program of mental health
services, and
2. Said Council shall communicate its concern over
the proposed cutbacks in mental health to County's legis-
lators in Sacramento so that a State legislative remedy may
be pursued.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the
City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held
