HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 04-2012 RESOLUTION NO. 04 -2012 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A NETWORK CORE SWITCH AND RELATED EQUIPMENT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $101,507.00; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH STEPFORD, INC., OF SAN CARLOS, CALIFORNIA FOR THE NETWORK CORE SWITCH AND RELATED EQUIPMENT WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco (the "City ") is a municipal corporation organized and existing under and pursuant to the Constitution and laws of the State of California; and WHEREAS, on December 1, 2011, City staff issued a Request For Proposals ( "RFP ") for a network core switch and related equipment, which included sending the RFP directly to all companies that signed up to receive an "e- notify" on the City's website; and WHEREAS, the City received three (3) proposals in response to the RFP: and WHEREAS, staff recommends that the City Council award a contract to Stepford Inc., of San Carlos, California ( "Stepford ") for the purchase of a network core switch and related equipment, in an amount not to exceed $101,507.00; and WHEREAS, adequate funding for the proposed purchase is included in the Information Technology 2011 -2012 budget. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby authorizes the Information Technology Department to purchase a network core switch and related equipment in an amount not to exceed $101,507.00. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a purchase agreement with Stepford for the network core switch and related equipment on behalf of the City of South San Francisco, subject to approval as to form by the City Attorney. * * * * * I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 25 day of January, 2012 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Mark Addiego, Karyl Matsumoto, and Kevin Mullin, Vice Mayor Pedro Gonzalez and Mayor Richard A.
