A RESOLUTION APPOINTING ENGINEER AND ATTORNEYS
ANTOINETTE LANE
STREET OPENING PROJECT
ASSESSMENT DISTRICT
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco, California, that'
W~REAS, this Council has determined to undertake pro-
ceedings pursuant to appropriate assessment and assessment
bond acts for the acquisition and construction of public
improvements in said City;
WHEREAS, the public interest and general welfare will
be served by appointing and employing engineers and
attorneys for the preparation and conduct of said proceed-
ings and work in connection with said improvements;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, as follows:
1. That Louis A. Arata, Millbrae, California, be,
and he is hereby appointed as Engineer of Work and employed
to do and perform all engineering work necessary in and
for said proceedings, including all preliminary surveying,
preparation of plans, profiles, specifications, estimate
of costs, assessment roll and assessment diagram, setting
grade stakes, supervision of work, inspection, and pre-
paring, signing and filing costs certificates; that
compensation therefor be, and it is hereby fixed at the
customary amount paid therefor by the City, to be assessed
as an incidental expense of said proceedings.
2. That the City Director of Public Works be, and
he is hereby directed to examine and approve the engineer-
ing documents, and to accept said work when do~e to his
satisfaction; and that the cost thereof ~shall be assessed
as an incidental expense of said proceedings.
B. That the law firm of Wilson, Jones, Morton &
Lynch, San Mateo, California, be, and they are hereby ap-
pointed and employed to do and perform all legal services
required in the conduct of said proceedings, including the
preparation of all papers not required to be prepared by the
Engineers (exclusive of printing), examining and approving
the engineering documents as to legal sufficiency, advising
all City officials on all matters relating thereto when
called upon, and furnishing their legal opinion'on the
validity of said proceedings and bonds; and ~that their .com-
pensation be, and 'it is hereby fixed at two percent (2%)
of the total assessment, together with reasonable fees for
services in acquiring easements or in eminent domain or
other suits, to be assessed as an incidental expense of
said proceedings.
4. That the fees provided to be .paid in Sections 1
and B hereof be paid from said assessments to be levied
and bonds to be issued, and not otherwise.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly
introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco at a regular meeting held this 18th day of October, 1971, by
the following vote:
