CiTY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION URGING ADDITIONAL FUNDING
BY CONGRESS OF UNITED STATES FOR
SURVEY OF COLMA CREEK.
RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francis co that
WHEREAS, there are serious flooding problems on Colma
Creek in the City of South San Francisco, California; and
WHEREAS, the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers has been
authorized to study and report on the said flood problem under
the Survey of Streams at and in the Vicinity of South San
Francis co; and
WHEREAS, a substantial portion of the study by the Corps
of Engineers has been completed; and
WHEREAS, it has been estimated that $90,000 is required
by the Corps of Engineers to complete the study; and
WHEREAS, the President's Budget for Fiscal Year 1972-1973
provides only $5,000 for continuation of this study; and
WHEREAS, committees of the Congress of the United States
will in the near future review and consider changes to the
President's Budget; and
WHEREAS, completion of the study at the earliest possible
date is a matter of urgency; and
WHEREAS, the capability of the Corps of Engineers for
continuing the study in Fiscal Year 1971-1972 was stated to
be in the amount of $60,000; and
WHEREAS, funding in the amount of $60,000 is desirable
for the Fiscal Year 1972-1973:
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED AND DETERMINED that
this Council does hereby respectfully urge the Congress of
the United States to provide funds in the amount of $60,000
for continuation Fiscal 1972-1973 of the Survey of Streams at
and in the Vicinity of South San Francisco.

regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the
City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting
held on the 22nd day of February , 19 72 , by
