HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 5823-1972 RESOLUTION NO. 5823 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION COMMENDING MAURICE K. HAMILTON. WHEREAS, Maurice K. Hamilton has completed twelve years of governmental service with the City of San Bruno and now retires in the capacity of Mayor with that City in order to assume the position of City Attorney for the City of San Mateo, and WHEREAS, his years of growth and maturity took place in North Dakota, his birthplace; and Jamestown College and Hastings College of the Law, fighter pilot duty with the Air Force in World War II, all of which have led to a level of professional competence, and WHEREAS, these growing years have culminated in numerous positions of responsibility in many areas of government, industry and philanthropy, including: Three years Mayoralty of the City of San Bruno, Chairman of the Local Agency Forma- tion Commission for five years, member of Council on Inter- governmental Relations for three years, past director of the League of California Cities, successful counselor at law, San Mateo County Bar Association leader, United Crusade volun- teer, organizer of Crestmoor Park Improvement Association, influencer of important pieces of State legislation and public opinion in general, and WHEREAS, all of his associates recognize him to be a devoted family man and "nice guy"; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that this Council does commend and honor Maurice K.
