HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 5830-1972 RESOLUTION NO. 5830 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION CANVASSING RETURNS AND DECLARING RESULTS OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ON APRIL 11, 1972. WHEREAS, a general municipal election was held in and throughout the City of South San Francisco on the llth day of April, 19 72, for the election of three (3) members of the City Council, City Clerk, City Treasurer and approval of Proposition B, and WHEREAS, the City Clerk has duly presented to the City Council of the City of South San Francisco all the returns of the votes cast at said municipal election, and WHEREAS, said City Council has inspected and examined all said returns; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of said City that said Council finds as follows: That Twenty-six Thousand Twenty-Nine (26,029) votes were cast in the City of South San Francisco by Nine Thousand Four Hundred Twelve (9,412) ballots for the office of City Council- man; Six Thousand Twenty-Two (6,022) votes were cast by Nine Thousand Four Hundred Twelve (9,412) ballots for the office of City Clerk; Eight Thousand Four Hundred Forty-Six (8,446) votes were cast by Nine Thousand Four Hundred Twelve (9,412) ballots for the office of City Treasurer; and Eight Thousand Eighty- Seven (8,08?) votes were cast by Nine Thousand Four Hundred Twelve (9,412) ballots for Proposition B; That the names of persons voted for and Proposition B as submitted at said general municipal election are as follows: (a) As regularly-nominated candidates: Frank J. Bertucelli, Incumbent Councilman F. Frank Mammini, Incumbent " Warren Steinkamp, Incumbent " Gordon T. Boblitt, Businessman " Arthur J. Connolly, Postal Clerk " Bette R. Higgins, Housewife " Terry J. Mirri, Law Student " Arthur A. Rodondi, Incumbent City Clerk John J. Bonalanza, Incumbent City Treasurer Harold Schuette, Banker " (b) As write-in candidates: None. (c) Ballot measure Proposition B: "Shall the following project of the Housing Authority of the City of South San Francisco be approved: With funds obtained from the Federal Government construct sixty (60) new units of housing on a parcel of land located at 351 'C' Street, now owned by the Authority, to be rented to qualified needy, elderly per- sons and families of low income." RESULTS OF SAID MUNICIPAL ELECTION A. CANDIDATES. That the record of the votes cast at said municipal election in favor of said candidates as shown by the official count at each of the several precincts established throughout said City by said City Council for the purpose of conducting said election is as shown on Exhibit "A" attached hereto, the same being a tabulation of the votes by precincts. That the votes cast at said general municipal election in favor of said candidates for the office of City Councilman, City Clerk, City Treasurer by absentee ballot as shown by the official count, and included in the totals set forth in Exhibit "A", are as follows: For the office of City Councilman: Frank J. Bertucelli F. Frank Mammini Warren Steinkamp Gordon T. Boblitt Arthur J. Connolly Bette R. Higgins Terry J. Mirri For the office of City Clerk: Arthur A. Bonalanza 75 Harold Schuette 57 · That the totals of the various votes cast at said general municipal election in favor of the several candidates are as follows: For Counciiman: Frank J. Rodondi 6022 For City Treasurer: John J. Bonalanza 4638 Harold Schuette 3808 B. PROPOSITION B. That the record of votes cast at said municipal election in favor of Proposition B and against Proposition B as shown by the official count at each of the several precincts estab- lished throughout said City by said City Council for the pur- pose of conducting said municipal election is as shown on Exhibit "A" attached hereto, the same being a tabulation of the votes by precincts. That the number of votes cast in said precincts for Proposition B was Five Thousand Three Hundred Twenty (5,320) and the number of votes cast in said precincts against Proposition B was Two Thousand Six Hundred Forty-Three (2,643). That the votes cast at said municipal election for and against Proposition B by absentee ballot as shown by the official count and included in the totals set forth in Exhibit "A" are as follows: Yes votes (absentee) 100 No votes (absentee) 24 That the total number of votes cast for Proposition B was Five Thousand Four Hundred Twenty (5,420) and the total number of votes cast against Proposition B was Two Thousand Six Hundred Sixty-Seven (2,667). 3. That the City Council of said City hereby declares as follows: That F. Frank Mammini, Warren Steinkamp and Gordon T. Boblitt were duly elected at said municipal election as mem- bers of the City Council of said City; that Arthur A. Rodondi was duly elected at said municipal election as City Clerk of said City; that John J. Bonalanza was duly elected at said municipal election as City Treasurer of said City; and that Proposition B was approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of said City shall, and he is hereby ordered to, issue Certificates of Election as follows: To F. Frank Mammini, Warren Steinkamp and Gordon T. Boblitt as members of the City Council of said City; To Arthur A. Rodondi as City Clerk of said City; To John J. Bonalanza as City Treasurer of said City; and further certify that Proposition B was approved.
