A RESOLUTION CANVASSING RETURNS AND DECLARING
RESULT OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
HELD APRIL ll, 1972
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco, California, that
WHEREAS, said Council did by Ordinance No. 629, adopted
on the 7th day of February, 1972, duly call and order held in
said City a special municipal election on the llth day of April,
1972, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors
thereof the proposition therein set forth;
WHEREAS, said special municipal election was held and
conducted on said day, as required by law and said Ordinance;
WHEREAS, it appears that notice of said election was duly
and legally given, that voting precincts were properly estab-
lished therefor, that polling place designation, sample ballots,
arguments for or against said proposition and tax statements
were mailed to all registered voters in said City, election
officers were appointed and election supplies furnished; and
that in all respects said election was held and conducted and
the votes cast thereat received and canvassed and the returns
thereof made, determined and declared in time, form and manner
as required by law;
WHEREAS, the City Council of said City met at the regular
meeting place of said Council on April 18, 1972, to canvass the
returns of said election and declare the results thereof; and
WHEREAS, said canvass was duly completed and the results
thereof are as hereinafter set forth;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY FOUND, DETERMINED and RESOLVED,
as follows:
1. That said special municipal election was held and
conducted in the City of South San Francisco, County of San
Mateo, California, on Tuesday, April ll, 1972, in the time,
form and manner required by law.
2. That there were thirty (90) voting precincts estab-
lished in said City for the purpose of holding said election,
consisting of consolidations of the regular county election
precincts as last established by the Board of Supervisors of
the County of San Nateo for the conduct of state and county
elections.
3. That a canvass of the votes cast in said City upon
the measure thereat submitted was duly held in accordance with
the order of the City Council and in accordance with law.
4. That the proposition voted upon in said special muni-
cipal election and the number of votes received for and against
said proposition in the precincts established therefor, are as
follows:

5. The number of votes cast in said precincts for the
proposition voted upon was 5902 , and the number of votes cast
in said precincts against the proposition voted upon was 2196

6. The absent voters' ballots, applied for and voted,
were received and canvassed in time, form and manner as required
by law, and the result of ballots cast by the absentee voters
was ~11 votes for and 13 against said proposition.
7. The total number of votes cast for the proposition
voted upon was 6013 , and the total number of votes cast
against the proposition voted upon was ??hq ·
8. That at said election more than two-thirds of all of
the votes cast for and against the proposition were in favor of
said proposition and authorized the issuing of said bonds in the
amount and for the purpose set forth in the proposition herein
stated; that said proposition was accepted and approved by the
electors of said City and that said bonds will be issued to defray
the cost of the improvement heretofore specified and to the amount
stated there in.
9. That the City Clerk be, and he is hereby, instructed
to enter this resolution in full in the minutes of this Council
as a statement of the result of said special municipal election.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly intro-
duced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at
an adjourned regular meeting held this 18th day of Aoril, 1972, by the
