CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING ASSISTANT
CHIEF OF POLICE AUGUSTINE TERRAGNO.
WHEREAS, Augustine Terragno has completed forty-two years
of police duty with the City of South San Francisco and now
retires in the capacity of Assistant Chief of Police with this
City, and
WHEREAS, Augustine Terragno, known by his many friends
as "Augie," was born in the green tombstone pastures of Colma
in 1907 but raised in this City's boundaries, matriculated in
this City's fine school district and at the daring age of
twenty-three joined the South San Francisco Police Depar~tment,
and
WHEREAS, Augie has been lauded repeatedly for his achieve-
ments including the ingenuous creation of the City Seal of
South San Francisco, initiation of the propane powered vehicle
program--the first of its kind in our Bay Area, aiding in the
development of South San Francisco's most modern police radio
system, and
WHEREAS, the members of the Police Department will fondly
remember Augie as this City's first motorcycle officer gifted
with extraordinary fastidiousness, scruples, and tempered
aggressiveness, and
WHEREAS, his peers regard him to be a devoted family man
and impartial soul;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of South San Francisco that this Council does commend and
honor Augustine Terragno for the many years of devoted police
service he has contributed to the City of South San Francisco.
