HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 5865-1972RESOLUTION NO. 5865 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION CHARGING THE DUTY OF COUNCIL APPOINTED CITIZENS' COMMITTEE- CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS REGARDING PUBLIC SAFETY. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of South San Francisco has appointed residents of this City to a capital improvement committee to conduct a study within the area of public safety, and WHEREAS, the municipal government of this City is con- ducting a general inquiry into the question of possible need for a new police facility and wishes to involve citizens of this community in the investigation of this important question, and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it essential to define the exact duties of this committee in the conduct of its investigation of the question of possible need for a new police facility, to wit: THE CITY COUNCIL HEREBY DECLARES: I. That the members of the "Public Safety Capital Improvement Committee" are charged with the duty to resolve the following questions: a) Whether the City of South San Francisco is in need of a new police facility, and if so why? b) If the City of South San Francisco is in need of a new police facility, what would be the best, most feasible site for the facility? c) What approximate cost would the City of South San Francisco incur in the acquisition of land for and construction of a new police facility? II. That notwithstanding the requested cost-analysis in I-c above, the Committee shall not conduct any investigation into the method of financing such a facility. III. That the statement of charge in I-a through I-c above shall not preclude the City Council from directing additional points of inquiry to the Committee from time to time. le NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that this Council does enact the foregoing statement of duty of the Public Safety Capital Improvement Committee. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a held on the 5th day of the following vote: AYES, COUNCILMEN NOES: " ABSENT, " regul ar meeting June , 19 72 , by Patrick E.
