HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 5885-1972RESOLUTION NO. 5885 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING WAGE INCREASES AND OTHER BENEFITS TO EMPLOYEES OTHER THAN THOSE REPRESENTED BY MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION, POLICE ASSOCIATION, FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION, AND AFSCME, LOCAL 156@. WHEREAS, the Police Association and the South San Francisco Municipal Employees Association have signed memorandums of understanding with the City of South San Francisco regarding wage increases and other employee benefits, and WHEREAS, these benefits are identical in each memorandum signed by the above-stated employee groups, said benefits for each group listed in Exhibit A and Exhibit B attached, and WHEREAS, AFSCME, Local 1569 and the Firefighters Associa- tion are continuing negotiations with the City of South San Francisco concerning wage increases and other employee benefits, and WHEREAS, certain employees with the City are not repre- sented by any of the above-stated bargaining units; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that this Council extends to employees not represented by the above-stated bargaining units those wage increases and other benefits enumerated in Exhibit A and Exhibit B. DE P~q TA~,' D I NG -- ~ - ~ _ ~ The City of South San Franmisco and the South San Francisco Police Association acknowledge and affirm that they have met and conferred in good faith, exchanged proposals and counter-proposals, and in all respects fulfilled their obligations under law to meet and confer on all subjects appropriate to this process. As a result of the meet and confer process the parties have reached an understand- ing · which the City negotiators have agreed to recom~nend to the City Council for acceptance and approval, and which the representatives of the South San Francisco Police Association have agreed to recommend to their general membership for acceptance and approval, as follows: 1. There will be a general increase in all present wage cataqories within the appropriate unit of 3.0% effective July 1, 1972. 2. The City shall provide, effective August 1, 1972, a Dental Plan for employees and eligible dependents. The Plan, herein referred to, shall be based upon a schedule of benefits with 80/20 co-insurance, no deductible and witJ% an annual standardized · maximum. The full cost of this employee and dependent Dental Plan shall be paid by the Ci ry. 3. The present maximum Sick 'Leave accumulation of 120 days shall be extended to 150 days, effective July 1, 1972. The "pay-out" maximum provision shall remain unchanged at 60 days. 4. The City agrees to maintain the present schedule 'of benefits under the existing Hospital/~4edical Plan by paying the increased premiums due during the' term of this Memorandum of Underst~ding. - 2 - This Memorandum of Understanding shall be effective July 1, 1972 through June 30, 1973. Except as herein modified and/or supplemented, all for~er terms and · · conditions of employment for employees in this unit shall remain unchanged.
