HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 5911-1972 RESOLUTION NO. 5911 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION APPROVING MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH LOCAL 1507, I.A.F.F., AFL-CI0. BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the Memorandum of Understanding for fiscal year 1972-73 with Local 1507, I.A.F.F., AFL-CI0, having been entered into between the employer representatives and employee representatives and having been duly considered by the Council, the Council does hereby approve said Memorandum of Understand- ing for fiscal year 1972-73, copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A. Frank M~mmini ATTEST: City~'C le rk EXHIBIT ,A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (Fire Fighters) The City of South San Francisco and Local 1507, I.A.F.F.., AFL-CIO, acknowledge and affirm that they have met and conferred in good faith, exchanged proposals and counter-proposals, and in all respects ful- filled their obligations under law to meet and confer on all subjects appropriate to this process. As a/result of the Meet and Confer process the parties have reached an understanding Which the City negotiators have agreed to recommend to the City Council for acceptance and approval, and which the repre- sentatives of Local 1507, I.A.F.F., AFL-CIO, have agreed to recommend to their general membership for acceptance and approval as follows: 1. There will be a general wage increase of 3.0% above all present wage categories within the appropriate unit, effective July 1, 1972. 2. The City shall provide, effective August 1, 1972, ~he dental insurance plan by United Benefit of Omaha including the schedule of allowances as adopted bv the City Council and put into effect on August 1, 1972 for employees and eligible dependents. The plan herein referred to, is based upon a schedule of benefits with 80/20 co-insurance, no deductible with an annual maximum of $1,000.00 per year per individual. The full cost of this employee and dependents dental plan shall be paid by the City. 3. A Fire Fighter who has worked 3 full consecutive shifts in a higher job category shall receive, effective with the first shift, · :Lie wage in the range for the higher category in which he has worked. The 3-day qualification shall apply to each episode or incident of employment. 4. One coffee break shall be permitted between 8 a.m. and 12 noon and one between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. during the normal work day under circumstances which will not interfer with minimum required manning and the efficient function:of the Fire Station. 5. The present maximum Sick Leave accumulation of 120 days shall be extended to 150 days, effective July 1, 1972. The "pay-out" maximum provision shall remain unchanged at 60 days. 6. The City agrees to maintain the present schedule of benefits under the existing Hospital/Medical Plan by paving the increased premiums for the term of this Memorandum of Understanding. 7. This Memorandum of Understanding shall be effective July 1, 1972 through June 30, 1973. 8. Except as herein modified and/or supplemented, all former terms and conditions of employment for employees in this units shall remain unchanged.
