CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION REJECTING BIDS FOR RENTAL
OF HEAVY EQUIPMENT - 1972, FOR DREDGING
SAND AND ~REMOVAL OF CONCRETE OBSTRUCTIONS
FROM COLMA CREEK AND TRIBUTARIES IN THE
CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA;
DECLARING THAT THE PROJECT OR PORTIONS
THEREOF CAN BE PERFORMED MORE ECONOMICALLY
AS HEREIN DESCRIBED; AND DECLARING THAT
PUBLIC INTEREST AND NECESSITY DEMAND THE
IMMEDIATE EXPENDITURE OF PUBLIC FUNDS TO
SAFEGUARD LIFE, HEALTH OR PROPERTY.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco that:
1. The Council does hereby reject all bids submitted
for the Rental of Heavy Equipment - 1972, for Dredging Sand
and Removal of Concrete Obstructions from Colma Creek and
Tributaries in the City of South San Francisco, California,
and does further declare that the project or any portion of
it remaining to be performed now after the changed conditions
caused by the flood occurring on this date and the Declaration
of Existence of a Local Emergency made by the Director of
Emergency Services pursuant to Ordinance 622, can be performed
more economically by day labor or the materials or supplies
can be furnished therefor at lower prices on the open market;
2. The Council orders that upon and after the adoption
of this resolution the project or portions of the project
remaining to be done concurrently with or after the emergency
work required to be performed as hereinafter authorized due
to the flood occurring this date and the Declaration of Exist-
ence of a Local Emergency made by the Director of Emergency
Services pursuant to Ordinance 622, shall be performed under
the direction of the Director of Public Works by day labor
and with materials and supplies furnished at competitive prices
in the open market.
3. The Council declares that due to the extraordinary
flood occurring on this date and the Declaration of Existence
·
of a Local Emergency made by the Director of Emergency
Services pursuant to Ordinance 622 and the public interest
and necessity demand the immediate expenditure of public
monies to safeguard life, health or property and upon the adop-
tion of this resolution the City Manager and Director of Public
Works are authorized to expend the sums required in the emer-
gency to safeguard life, health and property, not to exceed
One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00).
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of
the City of South San Francisco at a special
meeting held on the II th day of October
19 72, by the following vote:
