CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING ASSISTANCE
FROM HONORABLE ALAN CRANSTON, JOHN V.
TUNNEY AND PAUL N. McCLOSKEY IN
OBTAINING FLOOD CONTROL ASSISTANCE.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco that the Council
,
1. Expresses appreciation to Senator Alan Cranston,
Senator John V. Tunney and Congressman Paul N. McCloskey for
their continuing assistance to cities in flood control matters
and particularly for their assistance to the San Mateo County
Flood Control District and the City of South San Francisco
which is a part of that District.
2. Advises Senator Cranston, Senator Tunney and Congress-
man McCloskey that the City of South San Francisco, together
with the San Mateo County Flood Control District, is pursuing
a flood control project through the Army Corps of Engineers,
time for construction of which is estimated to be 19 77.
3. Advises Senator Cranston, Senator Tunney and Congress-
man McCloskey that deferring completion of the project to 1979
exposes safety of persons and property within the City to
flood hazard equal to or greater than the one experienced on
October 11, 1972, and that this Council respectfully requests
each of them to advise and assist in (a) expediting the project
or phases of the project so that some reasonable immediate
relief may be provided and (b) obtaining current emergency
re iie f.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the
City of South San Francisco at a special meeting
