CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AMENDING PERSONNEL RULES
AND REGULATIONS, RULE 9, SECTION 9.03
PROVIDING THAT ON PROMOTIONAL APPOINT-
MENTS ONLY THE TOP THREE CANDIDATES
ON A PROMOTIONAL LIST SHALL BE
CERTIFIED FOR APPOINTMENT FOR ANY
ONE VACANCY.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City'. Council of the City of South
San Francisco that:
Rule 9, Section 9.03 of the Personnel Rules and Regula-
tions is hereby amended to read:
9.03 CERTIFICATION OF ELIGIBLES
The appointing power shall indicate whether it is
desired to fill the vaeancy by re-employment, transfer,
demotion, reinstatement, or whether certification from
a promotional or employment list is preferred. If appoint-
ment is to be made from an employment list, the names of
all persons on the list shall be certified. If appoint-
ment is to be'made from a promotional list, the names of
the top three persons on the list still eligible and
available for immediate appointment shall be certified.
If a second appointment is to be made from the same pro-
motional list, the next three names of persons on that
list, excepting those already appointed and those no
longer eligible or available, shall be certified.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the
City of South San Francisco at a reqular meeting held
on the 4th day of December , 19 72 , by the
following vote:
AYES, COUNCILMEN Patrick E. Ahern, Gordon T. Boblitt, William A.
Borba, F. Frank Mammini and Warren Steinkamp

ABSENT, " None
