HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 6154-1973 RESOLUTION NO. 6154 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION REGARDING GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT (1.28 ACRE PAR- CEL LOCATED AT THE NORTHEASTERLY CORNER OF WESTBOROUGH AND CALLAN BOULEVARDS). BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that: WHEREAS, the Council on hearing duly noticed considered the Planning Commission's ReSolution No. 2128 passed June 25, 1973, the appeal of applicant, Joseph Haggarty, therefrom, the oral and written presentations made with regard thereto including the showing that applicant requested a general plan amendment hearing before the Planning Commission which was inadvertently not afforded, and WHEREAS, the Council holds the opinion that an analysis of the land use of the 1.28 acre parcel referred to in the Planning Commission's Resolution No. 2128 may show a limited, planned,community-commercial or professional use as more compatible, and WHEREAS, the Council deems it to be in the public interest to so change the general plan, either through a proceeding initiated by the Planning Commission or by the Council, but nevertheless preferring to rely on a proceeding initiated by the Planning Commission, makes this order in the alternative in the event the Planning Commission does not desire to initiate the change; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED THAT: 1. The Council request that the Planning Commission initiate a general plan amendment proceeding related to the 1.28 acre of parcel referred to in the Commission's Resolution No. 2128 to develop a more compatible,limited,planned community- commercial or professional use therefor, and to recommend and report same to the Council, or 2. In the event the Commission does not desire to initiate such a proceeding, then the Council request a report from the Planning Commission regarding a change in the general plan to designate a limited,planned,community-commercial use or professional use for said parcel. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular n~eeting held on the ~Oth day of August , 1973, by the following vote: AYES, Councilmen Patrick E.
