A RESOLUTION APPROVING CATV
SUBSCRIBER.RATE INCREASES AS

BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco that the Council, in a public hearing on the 20th
day of August, 1973, due notice of which was given by publica-
tion on the 10th day of August, 1973, in the Enterprise-Journal,
a newspaper published and circulated in the City of South San
Francisco (copy of which notice is attached hereto as Exhibit
A), having considered Western TV Cable's~subscriber rate increase
request by letter dated August 2, 1973, and August 6, 1973, copies
of which are on file with the office of the City Clerk, the report
and recommendations of the staff, the written and oral statements
made at said hearing, and all the factors set forth in Section 2
of its Resolution No. 5907, passed August 7, 1~972, finds and
determines as follows:
1. The increase is cost justified and is consistent
with the current (Phase IV) Regulations of the Economic Stabili-
zation Act of 1970, as amended.
2. The subscriber rate increases hereinafter set forth
are warranted from a consideration of all the factors related
to subscriber rates including but not limited to costs of
operation, gross revenues, projected increase in number of
subscribers, and additional requirements of the Federal Communi-
cations Commission.
3. The subscriber rates as set forth in Section 6 of
Ordinance 563, passed June 19, 1967, as amended in Section 1 of
Resolution No. 5907, passed August 7, 1972, should be reasonably
increased;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council orders the following:
1. Subscriber rates now set forth in Section 6 of

Ordinance 5.63, passed June' 19, 1~967,'..as amended in Section 1 of
Resolution No. 59.07, passed August .7, 1.972, shall be increased
as of September 1, 19.73, as follows:
(a) Single-use premises - individual, subscriber

The monthly service charge shall not exceed Five and
25/100 ($5..25.) Dollars for the first single receiving
set or apparatus (primary outlet) and for each receiving
set or apparatus in excess of one at the location of any
such subscriber, a sum not to exceed One and 25/100 (.$1..2.5)
Dollars per month.
(b) Municipal and South San Francisco Unified School
Di'stri'ct.' ..............................
There shall be no monthly service charge for service
to the occupied municipal properties of the City of South
San Francisco or the South San Francisco Unified School
District within the corporate limits of the City.
(c) Hotels, motels, multiple dwellings, and other
buildings~' ................................
The monthly service charge for hotels, motels, multiple
dwellings, and other buildings as more particularly
described in Section 5C of Ordinance 563, shall not exceed
Five and .25/100 '(.$5..2.5) Dollars for service to the antenna-
plex or other distribution system and the primary outlet,
and One and 25/100 '($1.25) Dollars monthly for each outlet
from said antennaplex or other distribution system within
the premises for each additional primary outlet.
(d) FM monthly service charge.
The monthly service charge for FM service to subscribers
who have an FM terminal block installed in addition to the
primary outlet as set forth in Section 5E of Ordinance 563

shall not exceed One and 25/100 '($1.2~5) Dollars per
month.
4. The Council declares its intention to make a biennial
review of subscriber rates commencing in 1975 and not later
than July 31st of said year and each succeeding two-year
period.
