A RESOLUTION APPROVING MEMORANDUM
OF UNDERSTANDING WITH INTERNATIONAL
ASSOCIATION OF FIRE FIGHTERS OF
AMERICA, LOCAL 1507, AEL-CIO, FOR
UNIT 6.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco that the Memorandum of Understanding for fiscal
years 1973-74 and 1974-75, with the International Association
of Fire Fighters of America, Local 1507, AFL-CIO, for Unit 6,
having been entered into between the employer representatives
and employee representatives and having been duly considered
by the Council, the Council does hereby approve said Memo-
randum of Understanding .for fiscal years 1973-74 and 1974-75,
copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A.

acknowledge and affirm that they have met and conferred in good
faith, exchanged proposals and aounter-proposals, and in all
mespects fulfilled their obligations under law to meet and confer
~on all subjects appropriate to this process.
As a result of the Meet and Confer process the parties
have reached an understanding which the City negotiators have agreed
to mecommend to the City Council for acceptance and approval, and
which the ~epresentatives of the International Association of Fire
Fighters of America, Local 1507, AFL-CIO, for Unit No. 6

have agreed to ~ecommend to their general membership for acceptance
and approval as follows:
1. SALARY INCREASE:
, Salaries shall be increased 4 % effective July l, 1973.
2. RETIREMENT PLAN:
The retirement plan shall be modified effective January l, 1974,
so that a member on retirement shall be entitled to "Survivor's
Continuance" (referred to as 1/2 survivor's benefit) which
entitles a member to his retirement allowance, not adjusted or
reduced because of continuance of 1/2 said allowance (or appli-
cable amount for those members 'under the plan integrated with
Social Security) to his survivor.
