HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 27-2012 RESOLUTION NO. 27 -2012 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF $40,000 IN GRANT FUNDING TO SUPPORT PROJECT READ SERVICES AND AMENDING THE LIBRARY DEPARTMENT'S 2011 -2012 OPERATING BUDGET WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco ( "City") Library Department established Project Read to assist adults and their families in reaching literacy goals; and WHEREAS, the Woodlawn Foundation awarded a grant to the City in the amount of $40,000 to fund Project Read's Families for Literacy and Learning Wheels programming; and WHEREAS, staff recommends the acceptance of the grant funding in the amount of $40,000 from the Woodlawn Foundation to support the services by Project Read; and WHEREAS, the foregoing grant funds will be used to amend this year' s operating budget of the Library Department. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby accepts $40,000 in grant funding from the Woodlawn Foundation and amends the Library Department's 2011 -2012 Operating Budget in order to reflect an increase of $40,000. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 25 day of April, 2012 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Mark Addiego, Karyl Matsumoto, and Kevin Mullin, Vice Mayor Pedro Gonzalez and Mayor Richard A.
