CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION AWARDING THE CONSTRUCTION
CONTRACT TO BBJ ELECTRIC, INC. OF SOUTH SAN
FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA, FOR THE UNINTERRUPTABLE
POWER SYSTEM AND INSTALLATION SERVICES
PROJECT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $74,134
WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco ( "City ") staff issued a Notice Inviting Bids
for the Uninterruptable Power System ( "UPS ") and Installation Services Project ( "Project ") on
February 16, 2012 and February 23, 2012; and
WHEREAS, on March 14, 2012, City staff received four (4) valid bids in response; and
WHEREAS, BBJ Electric, Inc. of South San Francisco, California, was the lowest
responsible bidder; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends awarding the construction contract to BBJ Electric, Inc.
("BBJ") of South San Francisco, California, based on the base bid in the amount of $74,134; and
WHEREAS, the Project is included in the City of South San Francisco's 2011 -2012
Capital Improvement Program ( "CIP ") and sufficient funds are available to cover the Project
cost.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that the City Council hereby awards the construction contract for the Uninterruptable
Power System (UPS) and Installation Services Project to BBJ Electric, Inc. of South San
Francisco, California, in an amount not to exceed $74,134, conditioned on BBJ Electric, Inc.'s
timely execution of the Project contract and submission of all required documents, including but
not limited to, executed bonds, certificates of insurance, and endorsements, in accordance with
the Project documents.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the
documents on behalf of the City Council upon timely submission by BBJ Electric, Inc.'s signed
contract and all other documents, subject to approval by the City Attorney.

I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by
the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 25 day of
April, 2012 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Mark Addiego, Karyl Matsumoto, and Kevin Mullin,
Vice Mayor Pedro Gonzalez and Mayor Richard A. Garbarino
