HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 6227-1973RESOLUTION NO. 6227 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION STRONGLY URGING THE COUNTY OF SAN MATE0 TO SUPPORT THE STATE BEACH, PARK~ RECREATIONAL AND HISTORICAL FACIL- ITIES BOND ACT OF 1974 AND STRONGLY URGING THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO TO ADOPT A FUND ALLOCATION PROGRAM FOR THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, THE AFFECTED DISTRICTS, AGENCIES, AND MUNICIPALITIES PREDICATED UPON POPULATION. WHEREAS'~'the' Legislature of the State of California has proposed a major bond program for the specific purpose of acquisition or development of parks, recreation areas, beaches, or historical units within the State of California, and WHEREAS, each county within the State of California is required to provide a formula for the allocation and disper- sion of the funds which will be obtained from the successful bond issue, and WHEREAS, San Mateo County will receive an allotment predicated upon the number of persons residing within San Mateo County, estimated to be 630,000, and WHEREAS, each district, each agency, and each munici- pality within San Mateo County is deserving of an equitable allocation predicated upon per capita service; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco hereby strongly urges the County of San Mateo to adopt a formula predicated upon popula- tion and the services disseminated to each citizen within San Marco County and that the funds derived from a successful State Beach, Park, Recreational and Historical Facilities Bond Act of 1974 be allocated per capita throughout San Mateo County, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the formula be derived from the estimated allocation to San Mateo County in the amount of $2,173,000 and be allocated to each jurisdiction predicated upon the relationship of that jurisdiction's population to the 630,000 total population within San Mateo County. lo I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a ~equ!ar meeting held on the 17'l-h day of December , 19 75 , by the following vote: AYES, COUNCILMEN Patrick E.
