CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO,STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF
AN AGREEMENT WITH GUY F. ATKINSON
COMPANY.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
South San Francisco. that the City Manager be and he hereby
is authorized to execute .an agreement between Suy:=E.Atkinson
Company of California, a California corporation, and the City
of South San Francisco, a municipal corporation, for the
parcel designated as 8.506-+ acres described as parcel No.1
in Title Insurance and Trust Company Preliminary Report No.
420975-SSF, dated November 29, 1973, which, authorization
supplements the authorization previously made in Resolution
No. 6228 passed the 17th day of December , 1973_.

labor and materials. '
It is requested that ali bids be submitted on both a unit. and group
basis because said City reserves the right to make award of contract on either
a unit or group basis.

and grades, and in conf{:rmance to the profiles, detailed drawings, and sp'ecif, i-
cations therefor which have heretofore been approved and adopted by said City
Council and which are presently on file in the Office o£ thc.Purchasing Officer
of said City. Reference is hereby made to said plans, profiles, detailed drawings,
and specifications for further uarticulars, copies of which may be procured from
the Purchasing Office, at no charge in City Hail., 400 Grand Avenue'
Sough San FranciscO, California 94080.
^11 proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a cashier's or certified
check payable to the order of the City of South San ~.ranci. sco, in an amount
.equal to not less than ten percent (10~) of the bid figure, or by a bond in
said amount drawn in favor of said City and execu.ted b7 a corporate surety.
Said check shall be forfeited by bidder, or said bond shall become payable to
said City in case the lowest responsible bidder (or bidders) depositing the
same does not, wi:thin the time set forth in said plans and specifications,
enter into a contract with said City, the faithful performance of which shall
be guaranteed by an undertaki, ng in the amount of one hundred percent (100~)
of the sum bid., said Undertaking being that of a corporate surety satisfactory
to said City Council, and which contract shall be accompanied by a labor and
materials bond of a corporate surety, also i.n a sum eq~ml to one hundred
percent (100.~,) of' the amount of said bid, as required by the provisions of
Title I, Division $, Chapter 3, of the Government Code of the State of
California. .In case of a forfeiture, as prov.ided for i.n the preceding
sentence, the defaulting bidder shall be liable to said City for any additional
expense to which it may reasonably be put in connection with obtaining full
and complete performance of the particular work of improvement with which this
Notice to Bidders is concerned.
Pursuant 'to Sect.ion 1773 of the Labor COde of tl~e State of California, the
City of South San Pranci'sco, on February 23, 1.9.73, did publish a list of prevailing
rate of wages in the l!nterprise-Journal, a local, newspaper. Said list of
prevailing rate of wages is also on file with the l)i. rcctor of Finance and 'is
incorporated herein by reference hereto, the same as if set forth in full-herein.
For any classification not shown in the list for prevailing r,qte of wages,
for any rate of wages-changed subsequent to the publishing of the list, the
minimum wage shall be the general prevailing Union Rate established for
San Mateo County. ,
The rates for legal holidays and overtime work., al'lowances for vacations,
pensions, health and welfare, shall be in accordance w.ith the local, trade
agreements in effect at the time of awarding of the public works contract. :..'
The Contractor shall obtain a copy of said published list of Prevailing
Rate of Wages from Office of 'Finance of the City of South San Francisco and
post it at the job site.
