BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that: WHEREAS, Personnel Ordinance 44@, Section 3(d) and Section 7, and Personnel Rules and Regulations, Section 4.02, empower the City Council to amend the Employee Classification Plan on the recommendation'of the City Manager, as ex-officio Personnel Officer, and WHEREAS, the City Manager, as ex-officio Personnel Officer has proposed new class specifications for Police Records Supervisor, said specifications embodied in attached exhibit, ma~ked "Exhibit A"; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that new class specifica- tions for the above-described position be adopted as amendment to the Employee Classification Plan. ATTEST: ~~~=~~ ' EXHIBIT A RESOLUTION NO. 1~-74 POLICE' RECURDS SUPERVISOR (U) January 1974 DESCRIPTION Under general direction is responsible for the supervision and training of civilian personnel in the maintenance and development of a police records section. EXAMPLES OF DUIIES Formulate work procedures and establish controls for detailed records keeping from general policy decisions. Establish filing and indexing systems for reports, procedures for records retention, release, and distribution of arrest, crime, incident, and vehicle accident reports. Schedule, .assign, supervise., coordinate, and review production of clerks, matrons, and cadets with regard to police reports. Establish and maintain sound working relationships with patrol, investigation, and communications divisions, with courts, and other agencies affecting police records. Develop systems for handling transmittal of bail moneys, handling of-criminal registrants, forms controls and storage, arrest warrants, permits and licenses, screening and distribution of corres- Pondence, and collection and dissemination of technical and instructional data relating to ~xisting and planned computer systems. Complete detailed and complex periodic statistical reports for submission to departmental, City, State, Federal and other agenciesl Assist in the development and preparation of an annual budget. Assist in the development and adoption of technical aids 'and equipment for the maintenance of a modern records system. 'KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS Thorough knowledge of the principles of modern Records Management, ability to plan, organize, supervise and coordinate an Information Section conversant with laws and rules governing same, and working skills with modern office equipment, practices and procedures. · . MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING Hiqh 'school graduation; preferably supplemented by 30 college le~e3 units. Three years work experience with increasing responsiblity, in a modern business office or records-keeping organization.
