HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 44-1974 RESOLUTION NO. 44-74 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO,STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING FILING OF APPLICATION WITH METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION FOR DISBUJSEMENTS OF FUNDS FOR TRANSPORTATION REQUIRE- MENTS WHEREAS, Article 4 (commencing with Section 99260) of Chapter 4 of Part 11 of Division 10 of the Public Utilities Code (the Mills-Alquist-Deddah Act) provides for the disbursements of funds from the local transporta- tion fund of the County of San Mateo for use by qualified municipal applicants to meet capital and operating require- ments, for the planning, construction, maintenance and operation of public transportation systems and for public transportation research and demonstration grants; and WHEREAS, the City did not own or operate a public transportation system prior to July 1, 1972; and WHEREAS, funds are required to meet the capital and operating requirements for the planning, construction, maintenance and operation of a new public transportation system, consistent with the legislative findings and purposes of the aforesaid act; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco as follows: 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to file a claim pursuant to the provisions of Article 4 of Chapter 4 of Part 11 of Division 10 of the Public Utilities Code, together with all necessary support- ing documents, with the Metropolitan Transportation Com- mission for funds to be used to meet the capital and oper- ating requirements for the planning, construction, mainten- ance and operation of a new public transportation system in accordance with the aforesaid Mills-Alquist-Deddeh Act during fiscal year July 1, ].97L~, through June 30, 1975. 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to transmit a certified copy of this Resolution to the Metropolitan Transportation Co~nission with the filing of the claim to be made pursuant "to the provisions of paragraph "1" hereof. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by 'the City Council regular of the City of South San Francisco at a meeting held on the 4th day of March 1974, by the following vote' AYES, COUNCILMEN 1!
