HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 64-1974RESOLUTION NO. 64-74 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION APPROVING PROCEDURE FOR NEW CONSTRUCTION OF COMMON GREENS. BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that: 1. The procedure for new construction of common greens set forth in Exhibit A attached hereto, as recommended by the staff report dated April 1, 1974, is hereby approved. 2. Resolution No. 4583, passed the 5th day of December, 1966, is hereby rescinded. Batta.qlia, F. Frank Mammini, Terry J. Mirri, Leo Padreddii, and Warren Steinkamp I! NOES, None ABSENT, " None ATTEST : .. C EXHIBIT "A" PROCEDURE FOR NEW CONSTRUCION OF COMMON GREENS 1. Application for Construction The applicant shall submit two complete sets of landscape plans and specifications to the Director of Public Services for review by the City Engineer and Director of Parks and Recreation for recommendation to the Planning Commission. A copy of the specifications approved by the Director of Public Services and the Director of Parks and Recreation and one copy of the approved plans in a reproducible form (sepia or tracing) shall be filed with the Director of Parks and Recreation. 2. Working Plans A set of the plans and specifications shall be filed with and maintained by the Director of Parks and Recreation or his representative for use in inspecting every phase of the work in progress. 3. Performance Bond A performance bond consisting of 100% of the estimated cost of development shall be filed by the developer. 4. Inspection of work in progress The Director of Parks and Recreation or his representative shall be given the same opportunity to make inspections as the developer or the Landscape Architect, but his inspections shall not relieve the Landscape Architect or the developer of their responsibility to also make inspections and ensure that the work meets specifications. A. The Director of Parks and Recreation or his representative shall be notified when the sprinkler system is ready for testing and inspection and the excavations shall not be backfilled until he inspects and approves the installation. B. Shrubs and trees shall be inspected before planting and shall not be planted unless they meet approved specifications. C. Planting holes shall be inspected prior to planting to determine that they meet approved specifications. 5. Changes in Plans Any changes from the original plans or specifications shall be approved -1- by the'Director of Parks and Recreation o~ hiS representative and the City Engineer prior to installation. 6. Filing of Plans At the completion of the whole installation of a common green, "as built" plans which conform to the work performed in every detail shall be furnished by the contractor to the Director of Parks and Recreation or his representatives to be kept on file as a permanent record. 7. Final Inspection The Director of Parks and Recreation or his representative shall make a final inspection of work, lawns and planting at the Developer's request upon completion of work. He shall submit in writing any discrepancies found between the installation and approved specifications, and these shall be corrected before the contractor's final phase commences, his post-planting maintenance period. 8. Post-Planting Maintenance Period This maintenance shall be done by the planting contractor, and shall be for a minimum of 90 days after final inspection, and shall consist of those horticultural practices itemized in the approved specifications, unless other- wise provided. 9. Final Acceptance The Director of Parks and Recreation or his representative shall make final recommendations to the Director of Public Services upon the satisfactory completion of all work, including maintenance, but excluding the replacement of plant materials, the guarantee for which shall remain in effect as provided by the specifications. 10. Guarantee and Replacement All plant material shall be guaranteed to be in good, healthy and flourishing condition of active growth at the end of the guarantee period as described in the approved specifications.
