CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN'FRANCISCO,STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING ESTABLISHMENT
.OF A COUNTY-WIDE TRANSIT SYSTEM BY
THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF SAN MATEO
COUNTY
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco favors the formation of a County-wide bus transit
system; and
WHEREAS, the Council has been informed of a previously
unknown alternative means of achieving a County-wide bus
transit system; and
,WHEREAS, the voters of San Mateo County overwhelmingly
approved State Transit Proposition 5 and CoUnty Transit
Measure C at the General Election held on June 4, 1974;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1. That the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco respectfully requests the Board of Supervisors to
establish a County'wide Transit System under the authoriza-
tion of Government Code Section 26002 by adoption of the
appropriate ordinance at the earliest possible date without
referendum; and
2. That the Board of Supervisors .seek the consent of
each city in the county to operate within the respective
municipal jurisdictions after the adoption of the ordinance
establishing t-he county-wide system.
I hereby certify that the £oregoing Resolution was
regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of
the City of South San Francisco at a ad.iourned requ~ar
meeting held on the 2YTh day of June
1974 , by the following vote:
