HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 164-1974RESOLUTION NO. 164-74 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AMENDING RULE 11.08 OF RESOLUTION NO, 3486 ENTITLED' "A RESOLUTION..0F THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ADOPTING PERSONNEL RULES AND REGULATIONS." BE IT RESOLVED by the City COuncil of the City of South San Francisco that Rule 11.08, as set forth in Resolution No. 3486, passed June 4, 1962, as amended, is hereby further amended to read: 11.08 HOLIDAYS (a) Ail municipal offices except for police, fire, sanitation and other departments designated by the City Council or City Manager shall be closed on the following legal holidays: (1) January 1st. (2) February 12th, known as "Lincoln Day." (3) The third Monday in February (Washington's Birthday Observance), (4) Good Friday from 12:00 Noon until 3:00 P.M. (5) (6) (7) (8) (9) (10) (11) (12) The last Monday in May (Memorial Day Observance). July 4th. First Monday in September (Labor Day). September 9th, known as "Admission Day." The second Monday in October, known as "Columbus Day." November llth, known as "Veterans Day." Thanksgiving Day. December 25th. (b) If January 1st, February 12th, July 4th, September 9th, November llth or December 25th falls upon a Sunday, said holiday shall be observed on the following Monday. (c) If January 1st, February 12th, July 4th, September 9th, November llth, or December 25th falls upon a Saturday, said holiday shall be observed on the preceding Friday. (d) Firemen, policemen and sanitation employees who have special work schedules shall be compensated for the holidays specified in subsection (a) by an additional - 1 - (e) day's pay if the holiday falls on the employee's woPking day om day of Pest. If the employee is unable to woPk on a holiday, which is his day of woPk, due to an injuPy in the~couPse of his employment, he shall Peceive the additional day's pay pPovided he does not Peceive com- pensation fPom otheP souPces. If an employee is unable to woPk on a holiday, which is his woPk day, because of sickness, he shall be entitled to be paid'fop said holiday upon filing with the depaPt- ment head a doctoP's cePtificate vePifying the employee's sickness on that day om filing a department bead's ceP- tificate with the City ManageP so verifying. If an employee is off work because of sickness, on a Pegular woPk day which immediately follows om pPecedes a holiday, he shall file with the depaPtment head a doctoP's cePtificate veP- ifying that he was unable to woPk because of sickness om file a cePtificate made by his depaPtment head so vePifying.
