A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO TO THE CALIFORNIA COUNCIL
ON INTERGOVERNMENTAL RELATIONS REQUESTING AN
EXTENSION OF TIME TO COMPLETE THE NOISE ELEMENT
OF THE GENERAL PLAN OF TH~ CITY OF SOUTH SAN
FRANCISCO.
WHEREAS, Section 65302.2 of the Government Code requires that every City
and County shall prepare and adopt the Seismic Safety, Noise, Scenic Highw. ay
and Safety elements of the General' Plan and that such elements be adopted
within one year following adoption of guidelines by the Council on Intergovern-
mental Relations which date is September 20, 1974; and
WHEREAS, the State Council on Intergovernmental Relations may in cases
of extreme hardship extend the date for adopting such elements for a reasonable
period of time; and
WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco and the Cities of Pacifica and
San Bruno have embarked on a joint program to plan, formulate and adopt a
Noise Element for each of these Cities on a cooperative basis; and
WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco had assumed that the time extension
approved by the Council on Intergovernmental Relations at its meeting on July 24,
1974, for all the general plan elements for the Cities in San Mateo County alSo
included the City of South San Francisco's Noise Element, but in fact it did not;
and
WHEREAS, it would be impossible for the City of South San Francisco to
adopt a Noise Element within the deadline date of September 20, 1974, and
because the City of South San Francisco desires to act collectively with the two
adjoining Cities to insure that the element is prepared efficiently and compre-
hensively, and because the qualified consultant assisting with this plan has
advised this City that it will be impossible to complete the Noise Element by
the September 20, 1974 deadline.
RESOLUTION NO. 20[-74
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco respectfully requests that an extension of time to September 20,
1975, to complete the Noise Element of the General Plan of South San Francisco
be authorized by the Council on Intergovernmental Relations.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular
meeting held on the 7th day of October, 1974, by the following vote:
