HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 207-1974RESOLUTION NO. 207-74 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO,STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AS A BICENTENNIAL COMMUNITY WHEREAS, the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America was signed on July 4, 1776, which guaranteed the citizens therein,among other things, their right to individual freedom and equality; and WHEREAS, the rich cultural heritage of the County of San Mateo has made significant contributions to the quest for, and the gaining of, independence of the citizens of the United States of America; and WHEREAS, this Council is desirous of supporting efforts to commemorate and celebrate this nation's 200th anniversary in the year 1976; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the City of South San Francisco hereby declares its intent to become a Bicentennial Community, and this Council does hereby endorse the efforts of the American Revolution Bicentennial Committee of San Mateo County. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a 16th day of October regular meeting held on the , 1974, by the following vote: AYES, COUNCILMEN Richard A.
