HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 22-1975RESOLUTION NO. 22-75 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING THAT TH~ COUNTY OF SAN MATEO BOARD OF SUPERVISORS APPROVE THE ALLOCATION OF $600,000 TO CITIES PARTICIPATING IN THE HOUSING AND COMMUNITY :DEVELOPMENT ACT APPLICATION WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco has agreed to join the CoUnty of San Mateo in an application to the Department of Housing and Urban Development for federaI funds under the Federal Housing and Commun- it)' Development Act of 1974; and WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo Board of Supervisors took, action on !December 10, 1974, to provide general guidelines for allocatiag the federal'funds anticipated during the first year, and said guidelines pr~ided for the allocation of $600,000 from the federal funds to par- ti¢ipating cities; and -, ~tEREAS, the City of South San Francisco is endeavoring toimprove thoconditions of all neighborhoods, ~ith special attention beingdirect,d to'rd improving the living environment and economic opportunitie~ in areas of lo~ and moderate income residents; and , ~EREAS, several cities within San Mateo Co~ty have decided not to 'join ~ith the Co~t7 in its application for federal f~ds, thereb~ freeing of the to be allocated to other participating cities; up a portion $600,000 anff ' ~EREAS, the City of South S~ Fr~cisco has submitted a list of priority projects ~d progr~s to utilize the additional funds from the O~ 0~ allocation. Resolution No. 22-75 Page 2 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the. City of South San Francisco recommends that the County of San Mateo Board of Sul~rvisors adhere by its original guidelines of allocating $600,000 to ci~ies participating in the Federal Housing and Community Development Act application, and that funds freed up by cities not joining in' the application be reallocated to participating cities. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Fr~cisco at a regular meeting held on the 5th day of February , 1975, by the following vote' AYES, COUNCILMEN Richard A.
