HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 41-1975RESOLUTION NO.41-75 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO,STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO APPROVING '.THE FEDERAL AID URBAN SYSTEM IN THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANC I SCO WHEREAS, highway improvements funded with Federal-Aid Urban funds must be located on the Federal-Aid Urban system; and WHEREAS, transit improvements funded with the provisions of Section 142 of Title 23 United States Code must be within an urban area and; WHEREAS, under the provisions of Chapter I of Title 23 of the Code of Federal Regulations, the Federal-Aid Urban system shall consist of routes selected by the appropriate local officials with the concurrence of the State Highway Department; and WHEREAS, as under the provisions of said Chapter, the urban boundaries shall be fixed by responsible state and local officials in cooperation with each other; and WHEREAS, said Chapter defines "appropriate local officials" as "the principal elected officials of the general purpose local government acting through the Metropolitan Planning Agency designated by the Governor"; and WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission is the Metropolitan Planning Agency designated by the Governor; and WHEREAS, the Director of Public Services has recommended approval of the Federal Aid Urban system depicted on the map attached as Exhibit A; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco does request approval of the Federal Aid Urban system depicted on said Exhibit A; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission and to the California Depart- ment of Transportation for their approval, and to the County of San Mateo. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a reqular meeting held on the 19th day of March , 19 75 , by the following vote: AYES, COUNCILMEN Richard A.
