A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN
FRANCISCO AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO FILE
AN APPLICATION WITH THE SAN MATEO COUNTY TRANSIT DISTRICT
FOR DISBURSEMENT OF FUNDS FOR THE CITY'S TRANSPORTATION RE-
QUIREMENTS
WHEREAS, Article 4 (con~encing with Section 99260) of Chapter 4
of Part ll of Division 10 of the Public Utilities Code (the Mills-
Alquist-Deddah Act) provides for the disbursement of funds from the
local transportation fund of the County of San Mateo for use by qualified
municipal applicants to meet capital and operating requirements, for
the planning, construction, ma, intenance and operation of public trans-
portation systems and for public transportation research and demonstra-
tion grants; and
WHEREAS, the City did not own or operate a public transportation
system prior to July 1, 1972; and
WHEREAS, funds are required to meet the capital and operating
requirements for the planning, construction, maintenance and operation
of a new public transportation system, consistent with the legislative
findings and purposes of the aforesaid act;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of South San Francisco as follows:
1. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to
file a claim pursuant to the provisions of Article 4
of Chapter 4 of Part ll of Division 10 of the Public
Utilities Code, together with all necessary supporting
documents, with the County of San Mateo Transit Dis-
trict, for funds to be used to meet the capital and
operating requirements for the planning, construction,
maintenance and operation of a new public transportation
system in accordance with the aforesaid Mills-Alquist-
Deddah Act during fiscal year July l, 1975, through
June 30, 1976.
2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
Resolution No. 42-75
transmit a certified copy of this Resolution to the County
of San Mateo Transit District, with the filing of the
claim to be made pursuant to the provisions of paragraph
"l" hereof.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly
introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 19th day of
March , 1975 , by the following vote:
