CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING OFFICER
ANTHONY WYNNE.
WHEREAS, South San Francisco Police Officer Anthony Wynne, upon
arriving at the scene of a fatal motorcycle accident on November 28, 1974,
in the City of South San Francisco, involving a motorcycle and a panel
wagon, discovered that the motorcycle was engulfed in flames approximately
ten feet high and that the operator of the motorcycle was killed immediately
upon impact, and
WHEREAS, Officer Wynne, disregarding his personal safety worked
through the flames surrounding the motorcycle and site of the accident to
remove a badly injured passenger, sustaining injuries to himself and
exposing himself to serious, if no.t fatal, injury by reason of the imme-
diate possibility of explosion, and
WHEREAS, after removing, the injured passenger from the vehicle
he extinguished the flames, and
WHEREAS, Officer Wynne was awarded special recognition by the
San Mateo Council of Lions Club for this act of bravery, and
WHEREAS, The City Council desires to commend Officer Wynne
for his conduct;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of South San Francisco that this Council does hereby commend Officer
Wynne for his conduct in the incident above recited which was in keeping
with the traditions of the South San Francisco Police Department.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly
introduced at a reqular meeting held on the 4th day of
