CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO,. STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION
OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE COUNTY OF
SAN MATEO - MAINTENANCE OF
WESTBOROUGH. BOULEVARD.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
that:
1. The agreement between the County of San Mateo, a political sub-
division of the State of California, and the City of South San Francisco,
a municipal corporation, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A,
is hereby approved for execution and,
2. The Mayor of the City of South San Francisco is authorized to
execute said agreement on behalf of the City and City Clerk attest his
signature thereto.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly intro-
duced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
at a regular meeting held on the 4th day of June
19 75 , by the following vote'

AGREEMENT
THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this 4thday of June ,
1975, by and between the COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, a political subdivision of the
State of California, hereinafter called "County", and the CITY OF SOUTH SAN
FRANCISCO, a municipal corporation, hereinafter called "City",
WITNES SETH:
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 1700 of the State of California Streets
and Highways Code, portions of Westborough Boulevard within the corporate
limits of the City of South San Francisco have previously been declared a
county highway for the purposes of construction and maintenance; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 1710 of the State of California Streets
and Highways Code, a city and a county may enter into an agreement for the
maint~nance of a county road or portions thereof within the unincorporated
area of the county by the city; and
WHEREAS, City is desirous of having County continue the mai~tenance of
a portion of Westborough Boulevard within their corporate ltm/ts, as shown on
Exhibit "A" attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, County is desirous of having City maintain a portion of West-
borough Boulevard within the unincorporated area of the County, as shown
on Exhibit "A" attached hereto:
N(~, THEREFORE, IT IS .AGREED, as follows:
1. County shall continue to maintain, at its own cost and expense,
those portions of Westborough Boulevard within the corporate limits of the
City, as shown on said Exhibit'"A", excepting therefrom the landscape main-
tenance which has been previously agreed to be maintained by the City pursuant
to Paragraph IV-A of the Joint Powers Agreement entered into by the City and
County on August 18, 1969.
2. City shall maintain, at its own cost and expense, that portion of
Westborough Boulevard within the unincorporated territory of~ the.~.County, as
shown on said Exhibit "A", excepting therefrom the maintenance of the 12-Mile

Creek drainage facility which the County shall maintain pursuant to Paragraph
X-D of 'said Joint Powers Agreement entered into by the City and County on
August 18, 1969.
3. County shall not be responsible for any maintenance, damage
liability occurring by reason of any acts or omissions of City'.in maintaining
