HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 115-1975CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 115-75 RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO AS THE PUBLIC HOUSING AGENCY AUTHORIZED TO OPERATE THE SECTION 8 EXISTING HOUSING PROGRAM FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, State of California, that: WHEREAS, the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, Public Law 93-383, in Title II thereof, requires that cities and counties, as a con- dition of initial and continued eligibility for Community Development Block Grants, have a Housing Assistance Plan;~and WHEREAS, the Housing Assistance Plan adopted by this municipality calls for the operation of the Section 8 Existing Housing Program by a Public Housing Agency; and WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the County of San Mateo has been operating the Section 23 Leased Housing Program, the predecessor to the Section 8 Existing Housing Program, within the limits of this City for many years previously and has tendered its services to be the Public Housing Agency, as described in the Housing and Community Development Act and the Housing Assistance Plan, to operate the Section 8 Existing Housing Program for this City; and WHEREAS, it is necessary that this City Council, by virtue of this Resolution, officially designate the Housing Authority of the County of San Mateo as the Public Housing Agency authorized to operate said Section 8 Existing Housing Program within the City limits hereof: NOW, THEREFORE, IT· IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the Housing Authority of the County of san Mateo be, and the same is hereby, designated as the Public Housing Agency Resol uti on No. Page 2 115-75 within the meaning of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, Public Law 93-383, authorized to operate the Section 8 Existing Housing Program within the incorporated limits of this City. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a reqular meeting held on the 6th day of Auqust , 19 75 , by the following vote: AYES, COUNCILMEN Richard A.
