CITY COUNCIL, 'CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION 'DETERMINING MATTERS RELATED TO
CANDIDATES' STATEMENTS (QUALIFICATIONS) AND
"OTHER MATERIAL" IN ACCORDANCE WITH ELECTIONS
CODE SECTION 10012 AND .RELATED SECTIONS
(GENERAL MUNICIPAL. ELECTION 1976)'
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
that: '
1. Scope of Resolution.
This~Resolution.is related'~to the determinations re§ardin§ word limi-
tation for the candidates' statements (formerly designated "Statement of
Qualifications"), charges to candidates for cost related thereto,and .'!other
material" ,as set-forth in Elections Code section 10012. (formerly numbered
10012.5).
2. Determination Reoardino Materials'Related to Candidates' Statement
(Qua Ii-fi cations ).
The City COuncil, :in accordance-'wi th Elections Code Section 10012 (for-
merlY numbered--10012.5) ~ ahd related sections,--hereby determines that an
increase in the limitation on words..for the-candidates' statements(formerly
_

designated "Statement of Qualifications") shall not be authorized, and there'
fore said statement prepared in,accordance with Elections Code section 10012
(formerly numbered lO012.5)~Shall be limited to-two hun. tired (_2:00) words, as
provided in said section.
3. Determination Re§ardin§ "Other Material".
·
The City Council, in accordance with Elections Code section 10012 ( formerly
numbered 10012.5).and'related-sections,'hereby determines that "other material"
as described in said Elections Code section (i.e., material other than the
candidate's statement) ,shall not be permitted to be mailed with the sample
ballot and voter pamphlet,a~d therefore no regulations are adopted by the
Council with regard thereto.
4. Determination Regarding Prorated Cost.
The City Council, in accordance with Elections Code section 10012 (form-
erly numbered 10012.5) and related sections, hereby determines that each .
candidate availing himSelf of the services related .to the candidates'- state- ·
·
ments,-'shall be - bi l l ed -. for ~said services in a sum'not greater than theactual
prorated cost of printing, handling and translating the candidate's statement,
if any, incurred by the City as a result of providing the services, and the'
City Clerk shall_give a written statement to each candidate so 'informing said
candidate at the time the candidate receives the nomination papers from the
City Clerk.
I hereby-certify.that the-foregoing Resolution was--regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a
reqular meeting held the'19th day of' November , 1975.
