HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 10-1976 RESOLUTION NO. 10-76 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO EMPLOYEE CLASSIFICATION PLAN BY ADDING THE CLASS OF ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT TO CITY MANAGER/PERSONNEL (U). BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the employee Classification Plan, as amended, is further amended to add thereto the specifications for the posi- tion of Administrative Assistant to the City Manager/Personnel (U), as set forth in Exhibit A attached hereto. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 21st day of January , 19 76 , by the following vote: AYES, COUNCILMEN Richard A. Mirri, Leo Padreddii and Warren Steinkamp NOES, " None ABSENT, " None ATTEST: City Clerk City of South San Francisco Dedember 1975 ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT TO CITY MANAGER/PERSONNEL' (U) DEFINITION Under City Manager direction, performs varied and responsible staff work for the City'Manager with an emphasis in personnel; assumes responsibility for assigned units or services- does related work as assigned DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS -- This is management position assigned tO the City Manager with responSibility for personnel administration. The range of duties may also include any aspect of City Administration as directed by the City Manager. EXAMPLES 'OF DUTIES Under direction of the City Manager, administers the personnel staff, budgeting. for the Personnel Division; collects, analyzes and codifies data in relation to personnel matters; develops, reviews, initiates, tabulates and analyzes administrative reports; prepares reports, reviews and makes recommendations; follows up and reports on work projects as assigned by the City Manager; develops and carries out public relations programs-~; initiates research, special studies, and prepares subsequent reports; attends Personnel Board, staff and public meetings as assigned; acts as staff laison to the Personnel Board; drafts and participates in preparing materials for publication;, responsible for personnel budget management as contained in City budget. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS Knowl edge of- Principles and practices of local governmental administration and public personnel administration as applied to the management of a public agency; Principles of organization,, budgeting and public relations administration. Ability to' Analyze and interpret factual data and interpret rules and regulations; Speak and write effectively; Establish and maintain effective and cooperative relationships with the public, city personnel and the press. Education- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a~major in public administration, personnel administration or a related field. A master's degree in public administration or equivalent may be substituted for one year of experience. Experience: Two years of progressively responsible municipal experience in an administrative capacity. EXHIBIT "A" TO RESOLUTION NO. 10-76
