HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 26-1976RESOLUTION NO. 26-76 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION UNDERTAKING A STUDY OF THE URBAN CORE AND ADJACENT SUPPORT AREAS FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEVELOPING A ZONING PROPOSAL · · WHEREAS, the General Plan of the City of South San Francisco sets forth the goals and objectives for balanced community development, and the Zoning Ordinance of the City of South San Francisco containS classifications, uses and procedures for land uses within the urban core and adjacent support areas which need revision to implement said General Plan; and WHEREAS, the present zoning regulations for the urban core and adjacent support areas afford the opportunity for uses which conflict with the goals and objectives of the General Plan; and WHEREAS, the City is presently preparing a master plan for off-street parking for the urban core and has completed a comprehensive survey through the office of Leonard Mosias of the housing units under the Housing and Community Block Program, in addition to other studi~s related to the urban core; and WHEREAS, there is need to correlate said studies and add thereto to de- velop a zoning proposal which protects the public health, safety and welfare and adequately implements the development of the urban core and ajdacent support areas in accordance with the General Plan; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, that: 1. The Council finds that the aforegoing recitals support the need for 5 ' Ill II ]i111 Ii Ii a study of the urban core and adjacent support areas to develop a zoning proposal which will assure complementary uses in the urban core and adjacent support areas thereby implementing the General Plan of the City of South San Francisco. 2. The Council orders that a study be undertaken of the urban core. and adjacent support areas described in Exhibit "'A" attached hereto and made a part hereof as if set forth verbatim, for the purpose of developing a zoning proposal for said areas which will provide for complementary uses in said areas, and provide for limitation or reasonable regulation of those uses which may conflict with the orderly growth of the urban core and adjac, ent support areas, if not so limited or reasonably regulated, said study to correlate the studies heretofore made and described in the recitals, in addition to analyzilng and recommending specific classifications, regulations and procedures for the urban core and'adjacent support areas to develop a zoning proposal which will implement the General Plan of the City of South San Francisco. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the. City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 25th day of February 1976, by the fo]lowing vote: AYES, COUNCILMEN Richard A. Battaglia,' F. Frank Mammini, Terry J.
