HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 75-1976 RESOLUTION N0.75-76 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE COUNTY-WIDE LAW ENFORCE- MENT COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND AUTHORIZING APPLICA- TION TO BE FILED WITH THE FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION FOR NECESSARY FREQUENCIES.. BE RESOLVED By the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, California, that: WHEREAS, inadequate police communications is one of the major county-wide law enforcement problems; and WHEREAS, the San Mateo County Council of Mayors, Police Chiefs' Association of San Mateo County and the City Managers' Association of San Mateo County, have unanimously endorsed a new communications systems con- cept; and WHEREAS, the County Criminal Justice Council has endorsed said concept and has allocated federal funds for its completion for the years 1976, 1977 and 1978; and WHEREAS, it is now necessary to apply to the Federal Communications Commission to reserve the UHF frequencies to be utilized in the system; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED THAT: 1. This Council hereby endorses the Law Enforcement Communications Sytem concept previously endorsed by the above-mentioned groups and attached hereto in summary form as Exhibit "A". 2. This Council encourages the County of San Mateo and the Area Disaster Council to coordinate together and take the appropriate steps to le apply for such radio frequencies and funding as are necessary for the system, and begin implementation using technical expertise currently avail- able on various county and city staffs. 3. This Council endorses the use of the Area Disaster Council Committee to guide the project. 4. The funding shall be shared according to the Area Disaster Council's joint powers fundi.ng formula, which is set forth in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof. The City of South San Francisco's share shall be Thirty-one thousand three hundred twenty-three dollars ($31,323) payable concurrently with the payments designated for the other Agencies set forth in said Exhibit "A':. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly intro- duced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a requlam meeting held on the/_~ day of June , 1976, by the following vote: AYES, COUNCILMEN Leo Padreddii, Emanuele N.
