A RESOLUTION ~ING
MR. ANTHONY JOJOLA 'AND ~MRS.' PAULINE JOJOLA
WHEREAS, Anthony and Pauline Jojola, residents at 150 Gardiner
Avenue, South San Francisco, were victimized at their place of residence
on March 16, 1977 by an armed felon using a young child as a hostage
while being pursued by police officers, and
WHEREAS, Anthony and Pauline Jojola, took i~mi~iate steps to
dissuade officers frcmentering the residence in the interest of protecting
the officers and the hostage child frcmthe armed felon, and
WHEREAS, both Anthony and Pauline Jojola r~ained calm and used
cc~%~endable judgment in ccmm~u~icating with th~ armed felon, resulting in
the decision to release the child hostage unharmed, and
WHEREAS, both individuals displayed cgnsistent courage during
the entire fourteen hour ordeal while hostage negotiations were taking
place, and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to oummendAntbDny and Pauline
Jojola for their conduct in this matter;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of South SanFrancisco
does hereby resolve to ~Anthony Jojola and Pauline Jojola for their
conduct in this incident.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly
introduced at a regular meeting held on the 20th
day of April , 19 77 , by the following vote:
