CITY COUNCIL, CITY .OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE-0F CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS
AND CALLING BIDS FOR LIQUID CHLORINE FOR
THE WASTEWATER 'TREATMENT PLANT
RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that
WHEREAS, Specifications providing 'fom purchase of certain
supplies and/or equipment have been su. bmitted, which specifica-
tions are entitled:
LIQUID CHLORINE FOR THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT
and,
PLANT;
WHEREAS,-the City' Council desires t°~approve said specifica-
tions and call for sealed proposals;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY' ORDERED THAT:
1. The-specifications hereinbefore named and identified
amc hereby approved and said purchase therein provided is he_~eby
.authorized~ and said specifications are referred t'o and by this
reference made a part hereof the same as if recited herein verba-
tim°

2. The City Clerk of said City is hereby directed to pub-
lish a notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for said supplies
and/o~ equipment in accordance with the specifications hereinbefore
named and identified and on file in the office of the City Clerk.
'NotiCe shall be published, at least twice not less than five (5)
days apart in the Enterprise-Journal, a newspaper of general cir-
culation printed and published in the City of South San Fra~.cisco.
The first-publication of the notice shall be at least ten (I0)
days before the date of the opening of the bids. A copy of said
notice entitled "Notice to Bidders" is attached hereto and refer-
'red to and by this reference made a part hereof as if set forth
verbatim herein.
All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a cashier's
or certified check, payable to the order of the City of South
San FranCisco, in an amount equal to not less than ten per-
cent (10%) of the bid figure, or by a bond in said amount

drawn .in favor of said City and executed by a: corpomate~
surety. Said check shall be forfeited by bidder,-or Said
bond shall become payable to said City in case the lowest
~esponslble bidder (or bidders) depositing the same
does not, within the time set forth in said specifica-
tions, enter into a contract with said City, the faithful
performance of which shall be ~guaranteed by an under~
taking in the 'amount of one hundred percent (100%) of

surety satisfactory to said City Council. In case of a
fomfeiture, as provided fora in the preceding sentence, the
defaulting bidder shall, be liable to said City fora any
additional expense to which it may reasonably be put in
connection with purchasing the supplies and equipment
with which this Notice tO Bidders is concerned.

which right is hemeby reserved.

I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
regularly introduce'd and adopted by the City Council of
the City of South San Fmancisco at a reqular
meeting held on the 18th day of May ~ 1977
