CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ACCEPTING
AMENDMENT 1-77 TO MEMORANDUM OF UNDER-
STANDING, UNIT 2 - PROFESSIONAL AND
PARAPROFESSIONAL, JULY 1, 1977 -
JUNE 30, 1979.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
that:
1. Amendment 1-77 to Unit 2 - Professional and Paraprofessional Memorandum
of Understanding. The Council, on August 3, 1977 by Resolution No. 112-77,
approved and accepted Unit 2 - ProfeSsional and Paraprofessional Memorandum
of Understanding entitled, "Memorandum of Understanding - Unit 2, Professional
and Paraprofessional July 1, 1977- June 30, 1979." The Council hereby
approves and accepts Amendment 1-77 to said Memorandum of Understanding,
as amended, a copy of which amendment is attached hereto as Exhibit "A'"
2. The City Clerk's Endorsement, The City Clerk be and he is hereby autho-
rized to endorse and initial the following on the face of Page 1 of
Memorandum of Understanding - Unit 2, Professional and Paraprofessional
July 1, 1977 - June 30, 1979' "Increase in base salary per Section 2
amended, refer to Amendment 1-77 dated September 21~ 1977 ."

EXHIBIT "A"
AMENDMENT NO. 1-77
MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING- UNIT 2
PROFESSIONAL AND PARAPROFESSIONAL
JULY 1, 1977 - JUNE 30, 1979
The City of South San Francisco (hereinafter, City)and Unit 2,
Professional and Paraprofessional (hereinafter, Unit 2) desire to amend
Memorandum of Understanding for Unit 2, July 1, 1977 - June 30, 1979, as
approved by Resolution No. 112-77, passed August 3, 1977.
In consideration of the aforegoing premises and the mutual covenants
herein contained in the referenced Memorandum of Understanding, it is agreed
as follows:
1. Salary:
a) Section 2(a) of said Memorandum of Understanding is hereby
amended to read: Salary effective as of June 24, 1977. City
and representatives of Unit 2 agree that negotiations of this
· Memorandum of Understanding c~mmenced prior to June 24, 1977,
and the parties intended and contemplated that pay adjustments
and increases pursuant to the 'Memorandum of Understanding for
fiscal year 1977-78 would be effective as of June 24, 1977.
Therefore, an increase of six percent (6%)in base salary of
each employee in Unit 2 shall be effective commencing on June
24, 1977.
b) Section 2(b) of said MemOrandum of Understanding is hereby
amended to read: Beginning with the pay period which includes
September 30, 1977, there shall be an increase of one-half of
one percent (½ of 1%) in base salary of each employee in Unit 2.
c) Section 2(c) is hereby added to said Memorandum of
Understanding' Beginning width the pay period which
includes July 1, 1978, there shall be an increase of
six percent {6%} in base salary of each employee in
Unit 7.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this Amendment
1-77 to Unit 7's said Memorandum of Understanding on the 2~_S.~,_ day of
