CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ACCEPTING:AMENDMENT 1-77
TO MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING, UNIT 7 - NONSWORN
POLICE DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEES, JULY 1, 1977 - JUNE 30, 1979

BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
Amendment 1-77 to Unit 7 - Nonsworn Police Department~Employees Memo-
randum of Understanding. The Council, on August 3, 1977 by Resolution
No. 113-77 approved and accepted Unit 7 - Nonsworn'Police Department
Employees Memorandum of Understanding entitled, "Memorandum of Under-
standing Unit 7, Nonsworn Police Department Employees, JUly 1, 1977 -
June 30, 1979." The Council hereby approves and accepts Amendment 1-77
to said Memorandum of Understanding, as amended, a copy of which amend-
ment is attached hereto as Exhibit "A",
City Clerk's Endorsement. The City Clerk be and he is hereby authorized
to endorse and initial the following on the face of Page I of Memorandum
of Understanding - Unit 7, Nonsworn Police Department Employees July 1,
1977 - June 30, 1979: "Increase in base salary per SeCtion 2 amended,
refer to Amendment 1-77 dated septe~mber 27, 1977 ."

AM£NDM£NI NO. 1-77
MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING - UNIT 7
NONSWORN POLICE DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEES
JULY l, 1977- JUNE 30, 1979
The City of South San Francisco (hereinafter, City) and Unit 7,
Nonsworn Police Department Employees (here.inafter, Unit 7) desire to
amend MemOrandum of Understanding for Unit 7, July I, 1977 - June 30,
1979, as approved by Reselution No. 113-77, passed August 3, 1977.
In consideration of the aforegoing premises and the mutual
covenants herein contained in the referenced Memorandum of Under-
standing, it is agreed as follows:
1. Salary:
a) SectiOn 2(a) of said Memorandum of Understanding is
hereby amended to read: Salary effective as of June 24,
1977. City and representatives of Unit 7 agree that
negotiations of this Memorandum of Understanding
menced prior to June 24~.'197.7, and the parties intended
and contemplated that pay adjustments and increases pUr-
suant to the Memorandum of Understanding for fiscal year
1977-78 would be effective as of June 24, 1977 There-
fore, an increase of six percent (6%) in base salary
of each employee in Unit 7 shall be effective commencing
on June 24, 1977.
b) Section,2(b) of said Memorandum of Understanding is
hereby amended to read: Beginning with the pay period
which includes September 30, 1977, there shall be an
increase of one-half of one percent (½ of I%) in base
salary of each employee in Unit 7.
c) Section 2(c) is hereby added to said Memorandum of Understanding:
Beginning with the pay period which includes July 1,~ 1978, there
shall be an increase 'of six percent-(6%)'in base salary of each
employee i n Unit 2.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this Agreement 1-77
to Unit 2's said Memorandum of Understanding on the 2$rdday of $~te~l~e~r
1977.
