HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 50-2012 RESOLUTION NO. 50 -2012 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSULTING SERVICES AGREEMENT TO MARK THOMAS & COMPANY, INC. FOR DESIGN SERVICES FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE SOUTH AIRPORT BOULEVARD BRIDGE AT NORTH ACCESS ROAD IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $375,775 WHEREAS, on February 24, 2010, the City Council awarded Mark Thomas & Company, Inc. a consulting services agreement for inspection services and assistance in pursuing funding from the Caltrans Highway Bridge Program ( "HBP ") for the South Airport Boulevard Bridge ( "Bridge ") at North Access Road Project ( "Project "); and WHEREAS, on July 21, 2011, the City of South San Francisco ( "City ") received notification that the Bridge was approved for eligibility and funding for Preliminary Engineering by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) for Fiscal Year 2012 -2013; and WHEREAS, staff recommends awarding the consulting services agreement for the Project to Mark Thomas & Company, Inc. ( "MTC ") of San Jose, California, in an amount not to exceed $375,775; and WHEREAS, funding for the Project is included in the City of South San Francisco's 2012 -2013 Capital Improvement Program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby awards the consulting services agreement for the South Airport Boulevard Bridge at North Access Road Project to MTC of San Jose, California, in an amount not to exceed $375,775 conditioned on MTC's timely execution of the Project contract and submission of all required documents, including but not limited to, certificates of insurance and endorsements, in accordance with the Project documents. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco authorizes the Finance Department to establish the Project Budget consistent with the information contained in the staff report. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute all necessary documents on behalf of the City upon timely submission by MTC's signed contract and all other documents, subject to approval by the City Attorney. * * * * * I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 11 day of July, 2012 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Mark Addiego, Karyl Matsumoto, and Kevin Mullin, Vice Mayor Pedro Gonzalez and Mayor Richard A.
