HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 224-1977WJML:JLC:sc 11/30/77 20 RESOLUTION NO. 224-77 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING FILING OF WRITTEN ARGUMENT FOR CITY MEASURE RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, San Mateo County, California, that WHEREAS, at the Special Municipal Election to be held on the 7th day of March, 1978, the following measure will be submitted to the qualified electors of the City: PROPOSITION: "Shall the City Council of the City of South San Francisco be authorized to levy a special property tax'of not to exceed a maximum annual rate of FIVE CENTS ($.05 ) per one hundred dollars ($100.00) of assessed valuation of all taxable property within the City, in addition to the maximum annual property tax rate now authorized to be levied in the Cit~ for the purpose of making lease payments to a non-profit corporation for the use of, and for the ultimate ac- quisition of, the Value Giant property located at the corner of E1 Camino Real and Arroyo Drive as a police and other municipal purpose facility; said special property tax to terminate not later than June 30, 1998.?" NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED and ORDERED that this City Council, being the legislative body of the City of South San FranciSco, hereby authorizes: -1- being members of the legislative body of the City, to file a written argument for said City measure in accordance with Article 4, Chapter 3, Division 5 of the Elections Code and to change said argument until, and including, the date fixed by the City Clerk, after which no arguments for or against said measure may be sub- mitted to him. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a reqular meeting held this ?th day of ~m~e~ , 1977, by the following vote: AYES, COUNCILMEN Richard A.
