HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1-1978 'RESOLUTION NO. 1-78 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION APPROVING GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT GP-77-6 PURSUANT TO PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 2224 - LAND USE ELEMENT CHANGE - MFDIU~I-~HIGH DFNSITY RFSIDENTIAL FROM I~W DFNSITY (HOUSING AUTHORITY SITE) WHEREAS, the proposed amendment (GP-77-6 ) to the City's General Plan is set forth in Resolution No. 2224 of the Planning Commission entitled "Resolution of thp City nf ,South San Francisco's Planning Commission. Recommend- ing to the City Council an Amendment to the General Plan from Low Density to Medium-High Density Residential and the Rezoning from {R-l) Sinqle-Family Residential to (R-P-D-lO) Residential Planned Unit Development on Property located at the .~nmJth~rly T~rmi.n~J~ nf "F~", "C~"· , AND "0" STRFFTS," attached hereto as Exhibit A, and WHEREAS, on the 22d day of .~. November , 19__~7~ by Resolution No. 2224 the Planning Commission of the City of South San Francisco approved and recommended same to the Council, as set forth in Exhibit A attached hereto, and WHEREAS, the Council., pursuant to the Government Code of the State of California, duly set a hearing thereon for the 4th day of januar~ , 1978, notice of whiCh was published in the "Enterprise-Journal," a newspaper .... of general circulation printed and circulated in the City of South San Francisco, and which date of publication was more than ten (10) days prior to the date set for said hearing, and' the affidavit of said publication is on file in the office of the City Clerk, and WHEREAS, the Council did hold said hearing on' said date and did there- upon consider said amendment and the statements and communications made at said hearing; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED THAT: 1. The Council hereby adopts as an amendment to the City's General Plan the amendment recommended by the Planning Commission in Resolution No. .~2224 , designated GP-77-6 , as set forth in Exhibit A attached hereto, thereby changing the land use of the property located, at the southerly terminus of "B," "C," and "D" Streets (Housing Authority site) to Medium-High Density from Low Density. 2. The said amendment be endorsed as adopted by this Resolution and the Mayor and City Clerk shall execute said endorsement. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 4th day of Januaru , 19 78 by the following vote' AYES, COUNCILMEN Richard A. Mirri and Leo Padreddii NOES, " None ABSENT," None ATTEST' City Clerk , 'EXHIBIT A TO RESOLUTION 1-78 ADOPTED January 4, 1978 RESOLUTION NO. 2224 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANC ISCO"S PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL AN AMENDMENT TO THE GENERAL PLAN FROM LOW DENSITY TO MEDIUM-HIGH DENSITY RESIDENTIAL AND THE REZONING FROM (R-l) SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL TO (R-P-D-IO} RESIDEN- TIAL PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT ON PROPERLY LOCATED A'~ T~HE 'SOUTHERLY TERMINUS OF "B" "C" and~"D" STREETS WHEREAS, The South San Francisco Planning Commission, meeting in regular session on the 22 day of .November , 1977, considered amending the Land Use Element of the General Plan from Low Density Residential to Medium-High Density Residential on property located at the Southerly terminus of "B", "C" and "D" Streets, attached hereto as Exhibit "A"; and WHEREAS, The South San Francisco Planning Commission, considered rezoning the property located at the Southerly terminus of "B", "C", and "D" Streets from the (R-l) Single-Family Residential Zone to the (R-P-D-10) Zone attached hereto as Exhibits "B", ".C", and "D"; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission made the following findings' 1. That the City of South San Francisco's General Plan is in- consistent with the present land use, zoning and voter app.roved densities. 2. That in order to fulfill the requirement of the referendum, the General Plan should be amended and the zone designation should be changed. 3. That the zoning, land use, and development patterns have been established and maintained; and that accordingly, compliance with current General Plan desity requirements are impractical and counter productive. 4. That the City is mandated to amend the General Plan and zoning for the Housing Authority site.
