HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 5-1978that: RESOLUTION NO, 5-78 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION IN THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ON THE 7TH DAY OF MARCH, 1978, DESIGNATING AND CON- SOLIDATING PRECINCTS, DESIGNATING POLLING PLACES, APPOINTING PRECINCT ELECTION OFFICERS AND OTHER RELATED MATTERS. BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco 1. For the purpose of holding a General Municipal Election in said City on the 7th day of March 1978, said City be and it is hereby divided into Thirty-one (31) election precincts designated as Consolidated Pre- cincts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, '8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 and 31. 2. Exhibit A attached hereto and made a part hereof by this reference designates the Consolidated Precincts or Voting Precincts which contain the territory of the County precincts or combination of County precincts established by that certain Order No. 1-78 adopted December 16, 1977, by the Councy Clerk, entitled, "Order Dividing the County of San Mateo, Cali- fornia, Into Election Precincts and Establishing Boundaries Thereof," and the precinct maps of San Mateo County on file in the office of the County Clerk. The polling place for each of said precincts is as shown on Exhibit A. The officers for each of said precincts are shown on Exhibit A and each of them is hereby appointed Precinct Officer for the precinct desig- nated. 3. The use of voting machines, same having been approved by the state Commission of Voting Machines, and approved and adopted by the County of San Mateo, is hereby approved for said election, and one machine in complete working order shall be placed in the polling place of each precinct, said polling places to be opened at 7:00 a.m. and kept open until 8:00 p.m. of said date when said polling places shall be closed. 4. The officers shall be compensated as follows: Inspector - the sum of $34.50 Judge - the sum of $29.50 5. The City Clerk shall provide or cause to be provided all supplies and services and equipment and do all acts necessary to conduct said elec- tion as provided for in the Elections Code and other related laws, includ- ing those services contracted for with the County of San Mateo by Resolution No. 217-77 of the City of South San Francisco. 6. The City Clerk shall give notice of the aforesaid designation of · election officers and polling places by publication in the South San Francisco Enterprise-Journal as required by law. - I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 18th day of Januar~ , 19 78, by the fo]lowing vote: AYES, COUNCILMEN Richard A. Each member of a Precinct Board shall receive as compensation for his services the sum of $29.50; provided, however, that the Inspector in each precinct shall receive additional compensation in the sum of $5.00. The number and title of the election officers for each of the precincts shall be as listed hereinabove under the name of the precinct, and such number is hereby determined to be sufficient for the election in each named precinct.
