CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION CANVASSING RETURNS AND
DECLARING RESULTS OF THE GENERAL
MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ON MARCH 7, 1978.
WHEREAS, a general municipal election was held in and throughout the
City of South San Francisco on the 7th day of March, 1978, for the election
of two members of the City Council and approval of Proposition P, and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk has duly presented to the City Council of the
City of South San Francisco all the returns of the votes cast at said munic-
ipal election, and
WHEREAS, said City Council has inspected and examined all said returns;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of said C.ity that
said Council finds as follows:
That Seven Thousand Two Hundred Ninety-six (7,296) votes were cast in
the City of South San Francisco;
That the names of persons voted for and Proposition P as submitted at
said general municipal election are as follows:
(a) As regularly-nominated candidates:
Ronald G. Acosta, Practicing Safety Administrator
Leo Padreddii, Incumbent
Roberta Cerri Teglia, Planning Commissioner
Victor Brincat, President, Magna Carta University
College of the Law and Banking
Richard A. Battaglia, Incumbent
(b) As write-in candidates:
None
Councilman
(c) Ballot measure, Proposition P:
"Shall the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
be authorized to levy a special property tax of not to
exceed a maximum annual rate of five cents ($0.05) per One
Hundred Dollars ($100.00) of assessed valuation of all tax-
able property within the City, in addition to the maximum
annual property tax rate now authorized to be levied in the
City, for the purpose of making lease payments to a non-
profit corporation for the use of, and for the ultimate
acquisition of, the Value Giant property located at the
corner of E1 Camino Real and Arroyo Drive as a police and
other municipal purpose facility; said special property
tax to terminate not later than June 30, 19987"
RESULTS OF SAID GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
A. CANDIDATES.
That the record of the votes cast at said municipal election in favor
of said candidates as shown by the official count at each of the several
precincts established throughout said City by said City Council for the
purpose of conducting said election is as shown on Exhibit "A" attached
hereto, the same being a tabulation of the votes by precincts.
That the votes cast at said general municipal election in favor of
said candidates for the office of City Councilman by absentee ballot as
shown by the official count, and included in the totals set forth in
Exhibit "A," are as follows:

That the 'totals, including the absentee ballots, of the votes cast
at said general municipal election in favor of the candidates for Council-
man are as follows:

That the record of votes cast at said municipal election in favor of
Proposition P and against Proposition P as shown by the official count
at each of the several precincts established throughout said City by
said City Council for the purpose of conducting said municipal election
is as shown on Exhibit "A" attached hereto, the same being a tabulation
of the votes by precincts.
That the number of votes cast in said precincts for Proposition P
was Three Thousand Three Hundred Fifty-one (3,351) and the number of
votes cast in said precincts against Proposition P was Two Thousand
,~ine Hundred Thirty-eight (2,938).
That the votes cast at said municipal election for and against
Proposition P by' absentee ballot as shown by the official count and
included in the totals set forth in Exhibit "A" are as follows:
Yes votes (absentee) 79
No votes (absentee) 97
That the total number of votes cast for Proposition P was Three
Thousand Four Hundred Thirty (3,430) and the total number of votes cast
against Proposition P was Three Thousand Thirty-five (3,035).
That the City Council of said City hereby declares as follows:
That Ronald G. Acosta and Roberta Cerri Teglia were duly elected at
said municipal election as members of the City Council of said City and that
Proposition P was approved.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of said City shall, and
he is hereby ordered to, issue Certificates of Election as follows:
To Ronald G. Acosta and Roberta Cerri Teglia as members of the
City Council, and further certify that Proposition P was approved.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly intro-
duced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at
an adjourned regular meeting held on the 14th day of
March , 1978, by.the following vote:
